Erasmus plus also supports the learning mobility of staff.
Particularly the KA1 Action offers opportunities for professional development to teaching and non teaching staff belonging to the following fields of education:
·         HE
·         VET
·         School Education
·         Adult Education
·         Youth (Informal Education)
The table below shows what types of activities are generally granted under the Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility for Staff:
 
Fields of Education
Eligible activities
Higher Education (HE)
Teaching period: HEI teaching staff or staff from enterprises can teach their subject/academic discipline at a HEI partner abroad.
Training period for professional development of HEI teaching and non-teaching staff in the form of:  
-      Training events abroad (excluding conferences);
-      Job shadowing/observation periods/training at a partner HEI or another relevant organisation abroad
Vocational and Educational Training (VET)
Teaching/training assignments: staff of VET schools can teach at a partner VET school abroad. It is also allowed staff of enterprises to provide training at a VET organisation abroad.
Staff training: VET staff can live a work placement or a job shadowing/observation period abroad in an enterprise or any other VET organisation.
 
School Education
Teaching assignments: teachers or other school education staff can teach at a partner school abroad.
 
Staff training: This activity supports the professional development of teachers, school leaders or other school education staff in the form of:
- participation in structured courses or training events abroad;
- a job shadowing/observation period abroad in a partner school or another relevant organisation active in the field of school education.
Adult Education
Teaching/training assignments: staff of adult education organisations can teach or provide training at a partner organisation abroad.
 
Staff training. This activity supports the professional development of adult education staff in the form of:
- participation in structured courses or training events abroad;
- a job shadowing/observation period abroad in any relevant organisation active in the adult education field.
 
Youth
(Informal Education)
Networking and Youth workers' training.
This activity supports the professional development of youth workers in the form of:
- participation in seminars, training courses, contact-making events, study visits;
- job shadowing/observation period abroad in an organisation active in the youth field.
